Food Security for Saints Living in Forests
Many saints live and meditate in remote forests, far from any regular source of food or medicine. This campaign reaches them directly.
by GYANVAHINI RESEARCH FOUNDATION · One partner temple in every district
Temples have always been places where the hungry are fed. The 1 Temple 1 District campaign builds on this tradition: in every district, one partner temple becomes a food-security centre that gives out food security kits.
Each kit holds a month's dry ration — flour, rice, dal, oil, salt and spices — for a saint or a poor family. Local volunteers pack the kits at the temple and hand them to saints, pilgrims and anyone in need with dignity, and your donation pays for the ration, packing and transport — so the kits keep reaching people month after month.
| Food security kits — 500 kits (₹1,500 each) | ₹7,50,000 |
| Packing material and storage at temples | ₹1,00,000 |
| Transport to partner temples | ₹75,000 |
| Local volunteer support | ₹75,000 |
| Total budget | ₹10,00,000 |
